Morning Prayer

Lord, in the silence of this new day,
I open the door to peace.
I come to ask You for peace,
wisdom and strength.
Today, I want to look at the world
with eyes filled with love;
I want to be patient
understanding, humble, meek, and good.
To see Your children beyond
their outward appearance,
as You see them Yourself,
in order to appreciate
the kindness to each one.
close my ears to idle words,
keep my tongue from gossip,
that I may only
have thoughts of blessing.
I want to be so well-intentioned and just
that all who approach me
may feel Your presence.
Clothe me, Lord, with Your goodness,
and may I be a reflection of You
thoughout this day. Amen.
